So I am packing my bags for the 2011 NACADA Conference in Denver, CO and travelling to the Rocky Mountains this weekend. Thanks for all the great ideas shared in today’s #AcAdv Chat on Making the Most of Your Conference Experience! [If you missed it, check out the archive!]

The #AcAdv Chat is taking a break next week, and there will be NO #AcAdv CHAT on October 4th. I am really looking foward to meeting some of you. For other advisors who are not attending the conference, be sure to follow along with the #NACADA11 Social Media Team and backchannel hashtag #NACADA11.

For those of you who want to meet me IRL, I will be presenting Session #193 (listed below) and of course I will be attending the #NACADA11 & #AcAdv Chat Tweet Up on Monday, October 4, 2011 at 7 pm. Sign up here to let me know if you are coming: http://bit.ly/NACADA11TweetUp

#AcAdv Chat: The Online Advisor Learning Network

Date: October 04, 2011    Time: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Room: 406/407
Abstract:

Personal Learning Networks (PLNs) make use of social networking websites and tools to allow users to personalize their learning resources, create community around common professional interests and areas of inquiry, and even attain professional development goals. Over the last year @AcAdvChat has evolved into a community and support system on the social web as the Advisor Learning Network. Through the use of emerging media, such as blogs, social networks and Twitter, advisors have been able to connect and converse with each other beyond formal training and development. The #AcAdv Chat brought advising professionals together each week to share ideas, resources and dialogue around various advising topics. #AcAdv is more than a hashtag – come find out what the chat is all about. Connect to #AcAdv Chat on the blog (http://acadvchat.posterous.com/) or on Twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/acadvchat).
